About the LBAP

To ensure that national targets can be translated into effective action at a local level, Sedgemoor District Council have commissioned a local action plan for the district. Through local partnerships the plan aims to focus resources to conserve and enhance biodiversity, while accounting for both national and local priorities. The plan also hopes to raise awareness of the importance of conserving Sedgemoor's biodiversity.

The plan will provide a baseline study of the biodiversity resource held in Sedgemoor. Together with the monitoring programme, this will enable future assessments of the success of conservation measures made at the local and national scale. It will ensure that opportunities for the conservation of the whole biodiversity resource are fully considered.
