Sustainable lives for Wildlife

The goal

to encourage people and organisations to change their
lifestyles and behaviours so they impact less on wildlife

How?

Sustainable actions

Even the most basic of our day-to-day habits effect wildlife. We’re developing a series of programmes to reduce the impact of local people on the natural environment.

Everyone can do their bit – and everyone stands to gain in terms of health, wealth and happiness. We’re working to promote understanding and action, getting the sustainability message out there to individuals, communities, businesses and authorities.

So go on – garden for wildlife, buy local food, use low energy bulbs, walk to work, compost organic waste, conserve water... Every little helps.

Key projects

Wildlife Gardening

Wildlife gardening was once seen as a rather radical pastime and celebrity gardener Chris Baines, President of the Wildlife Trusts, was at the very forefront of this new approach.

Wildlife surveys

We organise surveys from time to time which are designed to help us find out more about the wildlife in the area, as well as to raise people's awareness of the wildlife on their doorstep.

Recycling naturally - wild waste gardening

Waste is undoubtedly one of the biggest issues we all need to address. The human impact on the planet, which includes the problems of waste disposal is responsible for the increasing loss of wildlife habitats.
